HOW TO PLAY BLACKJACK

There’s a reason why Blackjack is such a classic - also known as 21, the game can be traced back to 17th-century France. The game's widespread popularity was further propelled by its appearance in Hollywood movies, solidifying its status as a casino classic.

Today, Blackjack is a global phenomenon, enjoyed by players in casinos worldwide, both in its traditional form and various exciting variations.

In Blackjack, the goal is to beat the dealer by having a hand value closer to 21 than theirs, without exceeding 21.

Basic Rules

 Card Values

Number cards (2-10) are worth their face value, face cards (King, Queen, Jack) are each worth 10, and an Ace can be worth 1 or 11, depending on what benefits the hand more.

The Deal

Players and the dealer are each dealt two cards and the dealer is dealt one card. Players' cards are face down, while the dealer's card is face up (known as the "upcard").

Decisions

Players have several options:

Hit: Take another card to improve your hand.

Stand: Keep your current hand.

Double Down: Double your original bet after the first two cards, but commit to stand after receiving one more card.

Split: If your first two cards are of the same value, you can split them into two separate hands.

Dealer's Turn: Once all players have made their decisions, the dealer reveals their downcard. The dealer must hit until their hand reaches 17 or higher.

Winning and Payouts

If your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's without exceeding it, you win. Blackjack (an Ace and a 10-value card) pays 3:2, and other wins pay even money.

Bust: If your hand exceeds 21, you bust and lose your bet.

Push: If your hand and the dealer's have the same total, it's a push, and your bet is returned.
